A jam that I really enjoyed, which came about when I least expected it - funny how that happens, right? I think I'll definitely be finishing this for an upcoming LP, this is kind of a skeletal version with all the parts recorded and minimal mixing.
The base ambience is a couple of chords from Novation Summit played into Make Noise Morphagene, which reinterprets the chords and makes them come and go in meandering fashion. To make the layering more dense, I bounced a recording of the chords to microcassette dictaphone, and played a version into Instruo Lubadh, which has them looping an octave up as well (all through Strymon Big Sky). Mystic Circuits Portal is doing some portal-y things to provide bursts of white noise that stray around the stereo field as well.
Main melody is Intellijel Metropolis sequencing Atlantis. Honestly, I'm not totally sure I'd call this a "melody" - more like a riff? This is what I've loved about this combo so far, they provide an instant sound that can keep a composition moving and interesting without stealing too much spotlight. I think when I finish this, I'd add another true melody on top of it.
Counterpoint from Novation Summit which comes and goes. Bassline is Pittsburgh SV-1, and the drums are from the amazing Elektron Machinedrum. This thing sounds so damn good, and I love learning more and more little tricks with every beat.
